Choosing between them

Four rules that decide most of it.

The photographs above vary in four ways, and every one of them is a decision you can make before you pick a finish.

One finish, or two

Two centre modules always take one finish. Packages with side modules can take a second on the sides. In a small room, one finish throughout looks more like architecture.

Niches, or one long shelf

Several lit niches suit a wide wall and give you places to put things. One continuous recess suits a narrow wall, because it does not chop the width into sections.

Fire, or no fire

A linear electric fire under the TV is the usual layout. Without one, a large lit shelf takes its place. The fire is priced separately and fitted into the module.

Light finish, or dark

Lit shelving reads brightest against a deep finish, so graphite, bronze and obsidian make every niche glow. Pale marble does the opposite and makes the wall recede.

Are these media wall pictures of your own work?

Yes. Every one of these media wall pictures is a wall we designed, made and installed, photographed in the customer's own room rather than rendered or staged in a showroom. Each one says which finish it uses.

What are the most popular media wall ideas?

A white marble centre with a linear electric fire and lit niches is the wall we build most often. After that: a marble centre with grey or cream side columns, and a plain micro-cement finish behind a TV kept in art mode.

Which media wall ideas suit a small living room?

Under 2 metres of wall, use one finish across the whole wall and one long lit shelf rather than several niches. Our compact 800mm module with a single wall panel is built for exactly that wall.

Can I have one of these media walls exactly as photographed?

Yes. Every wall on this page is one of our fixed-price packages in one of our standard finishes. Tell us which photograph you are looking at and we will confirm the finish and the price for your wall width.

What finishes are these media walls made from?

All of them use our wall panels — marble, stone, micro-cement, wood, metal and mirror effects — bonded to an aluminium frame. There are over 100 finishes and the wall price does not change with the finish you choose.

Does a media wall need an electric fire?

No. A media wall without a fire takes a large lit shelf in its place. It is a common choice where the room already has a stove or where the seating does not face the wall.
