FAQ

## Questions, answered.

[More answers in the help centre](https://www.thewallshop.co.uk/help)

Do fluted panels really change a room?

Yes — the vertical relief adds genuine depth and shadow that flat finishes can't, instantly making a wall feel more designed and architectural.

Are they good for acoustics?

The profiled surface helps scatter sound, taking the edge off echo and contributing to a warmer acoustic feel.

How are fixings hidden?

The grooves are used to conceal fixings and panel joins, giving a clean, continuous appearance.

Are fluted wall panels moisture resistant?

Yes. The core is 100% waterproof and the surface carries a UV-resistant coating, so the fluting holds its shape in a bathroom, a kitchen or a sunny room where MDF fluting would swell or fade.

Can I run them horizontally?

They're designed for vertical emphasis, but horizontal installs are possible for a more contemporary, low-line look.

Are fluted panels the same as slatted wall panels?

They give the same vertical rhythm. Slatted panels are separate timber or veneer slats, often on an acoustic felt backing; a fluted panel is one board with the grooves formed into it, so there are no slats to align and nothing to swell.

Do fluted panels work as bedroom wall panels?

Yes. A fluted wall behind the bed doubles as a headboard, and the grooves soften the light from bedside lamps. In a living room they work best as columns either side of the TV.
